Meet Wynn Adlington who'll be hosting the new Silver Rainbows social group for older LGBTQ+ people in Sandbach.

Born in Sandbach in 1947. 1964 Joined W.R.A.F. 1966 asked to leave WRAF because I was Lesbian!!

Myself and Bruce a gay friend were the founders of Market Tavern Thursday Nights, even mentioned in Gay News.

Spent the rest of my teenage years going to the Gay Quarter in Manchester. (It wasn’t called that then, just three pubs that were gay friendly – The Union, The New York, and The Rembrant.)

Late 70s I started as the DJ in the 141 Club in Hanley. Once a month I did a fundraiser for the local Gay Switchboard run by the PGCA (Potteries Gay Community Association). Met my future wife (Chris) during this time, been together 42 years.

Spent the last 20 years of my working life as a Teacher. Then head of Heron Cross Learning Difficulties Resource for children with Special Needs! Still in Sandbach.
