Chester Pride is Back for 10th Anniversary

Chester Pride is pleased to announce our return to a main scale event to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Full details will be released over the coming weeks on our social media platforms about the event, including the line-up for the M&S Bank Mainstage.

The event this year is happening over two days on 13th and 14th of August at Castle Square Car Park, with our colourful Bank of America parade on Saturday 13th August at 12 noon, and a family focus on the Sunday event on August 14th.

Chester Pride is also pleased to announce the opening of the Rainbow Tea Rooms on Bridge Street, Chester in May 2022. The café will have alongside it a community space for Chester Pride and other charities to carry out the amazing work they do in the area for the LGBTQ+ Community. It will offer a range of locally sourced cake, drinks, and light meals. The café has a motto “Everything has its place”, meaning a mixture of new and vintage items will be used in the café itself and its décor, however Chester Pride is asking for any unwanted colourful teapots that people may like to donate to the café. If you have any to donate, they can be dropped off at the reception inside Mecca Bingo in Chester.

“We are very excited about Chester Pride’s amazing future, but firstly for reaching our 10th year milestone. Chester Pride has grown from a one-off event in a car park to now include the ongoing provision of services including our Just Ask helpline which offers help, advice and support for our community and families, the Proud at Work network that links businesses and public sector groups to share best working practices, the Box Project that offers free condoms and menstrual cycle products in partnership with HCRG and in association with Body Positive, and our latest project Gather Round which runs several themed groups that help members of our LGBTQ+ community. The Rainbow Tea Rooms coming online will ensure that, alongside funding grants, sponsorships and public donations, Pride has a strong financial future to allow us to put on our events and projects in our anniversary year and into the future” said Warren Lee Allmark, Chester Pride Chair
