Macc Pride 2022
This year's Macc Pride takes place on Saturday 9th July with many fringe events from 2 weeks before that date. These include a history exhibition, art and photography exhibition, town trails and many events leading to the live entertainment on the Main Stage in the Market Place Macclesfield on the big day.
The Main Stage event will start at 10.30am, walking parade starts at 11.30am, and things draw to a close at 7pm, when there will be a Candle vigil at St Michael and All Angels church . We will be remembering all LGBTQ+ people who have been victims of hate crime and those who have completed suicide - including the friends and family they leave behind. We will remember those who are affected by HIV and Aids and LGBTQ+ people who face death across the world where their country does not allow them to be themselves.
Our aims are to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and why we still need Pride. We aim to promote equality and celebrate diversity by increasing visibility and reducing negativity. Find out more about Macc Pride at www.maccpride.org
