Silver Strollers - June
Silver Strollers - June
Thu 4 June 2026
June is here and with it comes the opportunity to enjoy the Cheshire countryside in all its glory. The woodland paths are at their greenest, wildflowers are in bloom and the longer days give us more time to get outdoors, connect with friends and enjoy some gentle exercise. This month we have a mixture of daytime and evening strolls, each designed to be welcoming, accessible and sociable, with time afterwards for a well-earned cuppa and chat.
Sunday 7th June
Delamere Forest
11:00am – 1:00pm
Delamere Forest offers some of the most accessible walking routes in Cheshire, with wide, well-maintained paths winding through beautiful woodland. Our stroll will take in some of the forest's gentler trails, making it suitable for a wide range of abilities while providing plenty of opportunities to enjoy birdsong, fresh air and the tranquillity of the forest.
Meet: Forest Centre Car Park, Delamere Forest, Northwich, CW8 2JD
Parking: £4.00 charge applies

We'll finish with refreshments at the Forest Café.
Tuesday 9th June
Bollington Canal Circular Walk
5:00pm – 7:00pm
This pleasant circular route combines the peaceful Macclesfield Canal with the accessible paths of the Middlewood Way. The largely flat terrain and good path surfaces make this one of our most accessible walks, ideal for conversation while enjoying waterside views and the beauty of a Cheshire summer evening.
Meet: Adlington Road Car Park, 25 Adlington Road, Bollington, Macclesfield, SK10 5JT

Tuesday 23rd June
Alderley Edge
5:00pm – 7:00pm
Alderley Edge offers spectacular views across the Cheshire Plain and, although there are some gentle inclines, we will follow accessible routes at a relaxed pace. The combination of woodland paths, open viewpoints and evening sunshine makes this one of Cheshire's most rewarding summer strolls.
Meet: Macclesfield Road, Nether Alderley, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 4UB

Sunday 28th June
Anderton Country Park
11:00am – 1:00pm
Our final walk of the month explores the accessible trails around Anderton Country Park. Expect riverside scenery, open green spaces and excellent path surfaces that make for a comfortable and enjoyable stroll. The park is rich in wildlife and offers wonderful views of the River Weaver and surrounding countryside.
Meet: Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre, Lift Lane, Anderton, Northwich, CW9 6FW

☕ We'll finish with refreshments at the visitor centre café.
As always, please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather conditions. June sunshine can be glorious, but a light waterproof and a bottle of water are always sensible additions to your walking kit.
We look forward to seeing you on the paths, trails and towpaths of Cheshire this month.
