Silver Strollers - February
February may still have a wintery nip in the air, but our boots are ready and the kettle will be waiting at the end. We have three refreshing walks lined up this month, each beginning at 11:00am sharp and finishing no later than 1:00pm, followed by a well earned hot drink in a nearby café.
Sunday 15th February
Alderley Edge, Cheshire
A classic Cheshire stroll with sweeping views across the plain. Our route follows woodland paths and open escarpment trails, offering a mix of gentle inclines and rewarding panoramas. Expect ancient trees, red sandstone outcrops and plenty of fresh air.
Meet in the National Trust car park on Macclesfield Road, Alderley Edge, SK10 4UB.
From the village centre, follow signs for “The Edge” along Macclesfield Road. The main car park is well signposted on the right.

Friday 20th February
Shakerley Mere, Cheshire
A peaceful circular walk around one of Cheshire’s most tranquil meres. The flat, well surfaced paths make this an accessible and sociable stroll, with water views throughout and a good chance of spotting winter birdlife.
Meet at Shakerley Mere Car Park, Goostrey Lane, Lower Peover, WA16 9SA.
From Knutsford, take the A50 towards Holmes Chapel, turning onto Goostrey Lane. The car park is clearly signed for Shakerley Mere.
