Silver Strollers - March
Spring is stretching its legs and so are we. March brings four Sunday walks across some of Cheshire’s loveliest green spaces. As always, we will meet at 11:00am and finish no later than 1:00pm, rounding off with a hot drink in a café nearby.
Sunday 31st March
Marbury Country Park, Cheshire
Marbury offers wide woodland paths, open parkland and beautiful views over Budworth Mere. This is an easy, sociable circular route with a mixture of lakeside scenery and mature woodland, ideal for blowing away the winter cobwebs.
Meet at Marbury Country Park Car Park, Marbury Lane, Northwich, CW9 6AT.
From the A559 (Northwich–Warrington road), follow signs for Marbury Country Park and Anderton Nature Park. The main car park is clearly signposted off Marbury Lane.

Sunday 8th March
Astbury Mere, Congleton, Cheshire
A gentle and accessible circular walk around the mere, with wide, well surfaced paths and expansive water views throughout. This is one of our most relaxed routes, perfect for easy conversation and steady pacing.
Meet at Astbury Mere Country Park Car Park, Sandy Lane, Congleton, CW12 4FP.
From Congleton town centre, follow signs for Rood Hill and then Astbury Mere. The main pay and display car park is off Sandy Lane.

Sunday 22nd March
Shakerley Mere, Cheshire
A peaceful countryside circular taking in the tranquil waters of Shakerley Mere and surrounding farmland. This largely flat route makes for an easy, sociable stroll with open skies and spring birdlife.
Meet in the car park of The Three Greyhounds Inn, Holmes Chapel Road, Allostock, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 9JY.
From Knutsford, take the A50 towards Holmes Chapel. The Three Greyhounds Inn is located directly on Holmes Chapel Road and clearly signposted. Please park considerately.

We will finish with refreshments at the pub or a nearby venue.
Sunday 29th March
Congleton Park, Cheshire
A riverside stroll through one of Cheshire’s most attractive Victorian parks. Our route follows the River Dane, with landscaped gardens, open green space and gentle pathways throughout.
Meet at Congleton Leisure Centre Café, Worrall Street, Congleton, CW12 1DT.
The leisure centre is a short walk from Congleton town centre and clearly signposted. Parking is available at the leisure centre car park.

⚠️ Please note: British Summer Time begins on Sunday 29th March. Clocks go forward one hour at 1:00am, so do make sure you’ve changed your clocks so you arrive in time for our 11:00am start.
