Hugo Panayiotou
Hugo is the new worker for the Transpositive service
With a background in psychology, I’ve spent many years supporting people through all kinds of life challenges – from managing long-term health conditions to navigating the world of work, benefits, housing, and wellbeing. I started out at Citizens Advice Wirral, where I worked closely with individuals to help them access the support they needed and set up community groups and networks across the borough.
After moving to North Wales, I continued working in similar roles across the region. At Maximus, I supported people back into employment and became a board member of MaxPride, helping to shape LGBTQ+ training and policy. One of the projects I was involved in even won a national DE&I award in 2025, which was a proud moment!
As a trans man, LGBTQ+ inclusion is something I care deeply about. I’m passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces where everyone feels seen and supported.
Outside of work, I’m into all things nature and environmental, and I’ve always got something on the go. I’m a guitarist, samba drummer, martial arts fan, and regular gym-goer. I’m also a very proud dad to two energetic ‘tween’ girls – life is full, loud, and never boring! If I’m not playing music or reading, you’ll probably find me cooking (happily).
I believe in keeping things simple: be kind, stay curious, and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
